Today is the day!
The first two episodes of Inside Psycho are now available!
That’s the podcast I am producing for Wondery – a six-part series about the trials and tribulations, the joy and sadness, the humor and horror behind the scenes during, before, and after the making of the Hitchcock classic, Psycho.
The show is already off to a strong start – I’ve done a slew of interviews about it, and it’s featured by Apple as “New and Noteworthy.”
You can find the audio here (or here if you’re reading this by email):
And would you please provide a rating and a comment at iTunes or wherever you find your podcasts?
Among the things you’ll hear in this series: The stories I was told by a good friend of Anthony Perkins (Norman Bates) about how he and Tony would prank call Tony’s female co-stars. Those calls were so funny Tony recorded them, and the shrill female voice Tony’s friend used made such an impression on Hitchcock, he used it as one of the voices of Norman Bates’ mother.
Tons of colorful anecdotes about the rise of Psycho and the rise and fall of Hitchcock.
Enjoy!
Maybe for the next project I’ll chase down Richard Simmons, in case nobody has done that yet.
