“Standard.”
That’s the key word.
Not “Option.”
It comes with the new car – no choice on your part at all. It’s the dream fulfilled, both for satellite radio and for HD radio.
And it’s here now for XM and Acura.
True, there’s still that nagging subscription after three months. But asking me to pay for something after giving it to me for free for a few months is different from asking me to pay for it up front.
If you force consumers to choose something they may choose “no” or may choose not to choose. Either way, you lose.
If you eliminate the choice, you win.
If satellite radio becomes “standard” on every car, satellite radio wins.
