There are some things I like about the new HD campaign and some things I’m hugely concerned about.
And those huge concerns have been taken to a new level based on some input I got recently from people near the very center of the HD effort.
But I’ll tackle the concerns later this week. For today, here’s what I really like:
The sheer magnitude of the effort is impressive and certainly reflects the will of the industry to see HD established as something other than a hobbyist’s niche tool.
That “A for Effort” will, perhaps, be noticed not only by consumers but by the other players in the mix on the production side.
As I’ll discuss later this week, it is the manufacturers who will determine whether HD becomes the new way we hear radio or the new “AM stereo.”
